Research Interests
Prof. Sheridan's research involves the design and synthesis of metal-containing polymers linked via -conjugated organic/inorganic bridges. Specifically we have used hydrosilylation to prepare polymers containing silylene, phenylenevinylene or thienylenevinylene groups and ferrocene and troticene groups in the polymer backbone. The strategy is outlined in the schemes in the link below, and polymerization is achieved via hydrosilylation of dialkynes with metal-containing disilane monomers.For more detail, please click here.
