The departmental facility is equipped with 500 and 600 MHz NMR instruments (Varian INOVA). The director of the NMR facility is Dr. Lazaros Kakalis.
Varian 500 NMR Spectrometer
The Varian Inova 500 spectrometer uses a 51 mm bore, 28-shim, 11.7 T superconducting Oxford magnet. The console consists of three r.f. channels, each with waveform generation and pulse shaping capabilities, a Z pulsed field gradient unit, and a variable temperature unit. The available probes are a 5mm dual broadband (Ag109-P31, H1/F19) probe with z-gradient, a 5mm H1/C13/N15 triple resonance probe with Z gradient, and a 10mm broadband (N15-P31, H1) probe.
Varian 600 NMR Spectrometer
The Varian Inova 600 spectrometer uses a 51 mm bore, 40-shim,
actively-shielded, 14.1 T superconducting Oxford magnet. The console
consists of three r.f. channels, each with waveform generation and
pulse shaping capabilities, a deuterium decoupling module, a XYZ pulsed
field gradient unit, and a variable temperature unit. The available
probes are a 5mm H1/C13/N15 triple resonance probe with XYZ gradients
and a 5mm dual broadband (N15-P31, H1/F19) probe with z-gradient.
